Firm Foundations Guided Conversations

The “Firm Foundations” materials are not written as Bible studies, but as guided conversations to help you and others become firmly “rooted and built up in him and established in the faith” (Colossians 2:6-7). They are numbered, which implies a recommended order, but they can be read and discussed in whatever order is preferred.

Each topic is based on a short biblical passage and other related scripture. And each topic presents a graphic illustration to picture the main idea. Often people are visual learners, so the graphic illustrations help clarify the topic and help with remembering what was discussed. Each conversation is 1-1/2 pages and typically takes about 40-45 minutes to discuss the 8-10 questions, read together the explanatory paragraphs, and review the graphic illustration. They easily can be completed over two meetings if your conversation takes longer. And each Firm Foundation sheet provides additional content “For Further Thought and Reflection” after you have completed the conversation.

Thirteen Firm Foundation topics are completed, with another 8 in mind (* not yet completed). There first topic, Established in Your Faith, is written as an Introduction to bridge from the gospel. Each topic is in PDF format so they can be downloaded for printing and use. Copyright is retained, so please do not edit or alter the content and format. And, of course, they should not be reprinted for sale, but for using with others. Please print them double-sided and fold them in half landscape. Then trim off the bottom one-half inch (the smaller page size helps them not to be intimidating).

We always appreciate people’s comments and suggestions (especially if you see typos, or grammar mistakes, or feel a different word or phrase would better communicate). Email Chuck Roeper at info.umich@gradcru.org with any questions or comments.
